As part of the Akademie Schloss Solitude fellowship program, Maya has shown some of her ongoing research on Surveys as constructs of power.
As part of her visual investigation, she has been looking at multiple representations of the Schloss itself (once the leisure residence of the Habsburg emperor, today the house of the institution, and the fellows) - a reification of forms of control over the surrounding landscape.

Her work addresses the complexities of identity through imaging technologies that allow for multiple perspectives. She views screens and windows alike as conceptual barriers between interior and exterior worlds, both real and virtual.
Spanning various media—from publications to objects, prints, installations, and buildings—her projects recalibrate our engagement with physical and digital spaces.
